Organist
I have been playing as a wedding organist for over 25 years.
Your special day can be greatly enhanced by the right choice of music and hymns. I will be pleased to help you with this as well as for playing for you on the day.
I am based in south-east Essex, and will travel to anywhere in Essex, east London or north-west Kent, or elsewhere by negotiation. RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) fees are recommended, but I am usually happy to accept the local church's standard fees, plus travel expenses if it's more than about 10 miles away.
I am also happy to recommend soloists to sing at your wedding service.
Playing at your Reception
I can bring my own portable harpsichord (see Organist, Harpsichordist... from the menu on the left) to play music while you're having your meal, or before or afterwards. This can be either solo or with one or two recorder or flute players. Music that could be played includes Bach (pieces from the Notenbüchlein for Anna Magdalena Bach), Handel (Recorder and Flute Sonatas), and Telemann (Wedding Divertissement)
Alternatively, I can play piano, either classical / baroque pieces or light pieces by George Gershwin / Cole Porter / Irving Berlin, or even accordion - as recently requested by one wedding couple, which proved very successful.
Playing for your Evening Function
If you want something different for your evening function, why not consider a barn dance with my band The Famous Potatoes?
Orders of Service
I can produce your order of service if you want a simple one on plain or coloured paper or light card, with your own design if required. I will check the wording and spelling (you may be surprised how many "professional" orders get something wrong!) This can be done whether you want me as an organist or not, and at much less cost than if you were to get a company to do it for you.
