Arrangements
I
am the arranger of music for the annual Leigh-on-Sea Folk Carol
Service, and I arrange and adapt music for several local soloists and groups, mostly
traditional and public domain material.
The Folk Carol Service was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Christmas Eve 2009 as
part of their Keeping
Tradition Alive at Christmas series. Eight of my arrangements were used in
the programme, including the one featured in the link ("Some
of the 'patchwork quilt' of carols in Leigh on Sea"), which features
the Honeygales singing the first two verses of my arrangement of the traditional
Scots carol "Ane sang of the birth of Christ (Balulalow)". These two
verses weren't used in the actual broadcast - they opted for the fourth verse
instead.
I can produce arrangements from
cassette, CD, video or DVD and have even transcribed a song and produced a piano
arrangement from hearing it hummed down the phone. If you want me to arrange
material please check its copyright first as I cannot arrange music for which
the copyright holder has not given permission - this is for you to sort out, not
me!
Transcription and Other Musical Services
I produce printed musical scores or transpositions from handwritten material, using Sibelius or, if you prefer, Finale Notepad or Noteworthy Composer.
I can undertake musical research or provide you with answers to questions (but please, no homework - it's not fair on the teacher!) No fee if I can't provide a satisfactory solution, and I will tell you in advance if I'm not likely to be able to help you.
If you'd like anything else - just ask!
