Philip Norman Musical Services - organists online, choral workshops and much more

Ann Carey's Church Organist website address has unfortunately been acquired by someone with no apparent connection to church organists, but she can be contacted via her Concert Artist site

Rhinegold's classical music job listings (you need to click "Online Jobs" at the bottom right, then do the same again when the page has refreshed, to get to the jobs)

The granddaddy of them all, J.S. Bach - visit the Bach Cantatas website

English translations of Bach's vocal works

Zweitausendeins - a mail-order company based in Germany, mainly useful as an outlet for Brilliant Classics CDs. Brilliant Classics have produced a complete set of the works of both Bach and Mozart, and have done a lot more besides. Although the quality can vary, most of the CDs are very good indeed and they are quite ridiculously cheap, even by mail order - just 9.50 Euros to add for postage and packing whatever the size of the order, and no UK customs duty to add if it's for your own personal use. Brilliant are credited with bringing ordinary Netherlanders in touch with great classical music via the Kruidvat drugstores, and for that alone they are to be warmly congratulated. Unfortunately Zweitausendeins have recently removed the English version of their website so you now have to do your searches in German, and their delivery has been a little haphazard (although they are always happy and willing to correct their mistakes). If you don't fancy ordering from a non-UK site, almost the whole range is available in the UK (at about 50% more, but still well worth the purchase) from the CD Selections website. Check out the Joan Records (Brilliant's parent company) site for comprehensive details of all available CDs.

and please pay a visit to the website of my own band The Famous Potatoes

Religious

The Church Times - includes jobs for organists. The publication date is Friday but the website is usually updated with the jobs late on Wednesday each week

The Church of England Newspaper - ditto, updated every Thursday, with PDF copies of their classifieds pages available for download

The Methodist Church of Great Britain

The Royal School of Church Music

Other (a lot of these are UK specific)

Google - still the best search engine around - or try Google.co.uk for more UK specific info

Amazon.co.uk - still the best site to buy books online, and well worth checking out their special offers

AA and RAC - find out how to get to your gig - just type in the postcodes for both ends and Bob's your uncle, you get a door-to-door route planner

The RNIB's Hints for designing accessible websites - OK, I haven't followed all their guidelines but it makes salutary reading for all those people designing sites bursting with Flash, Shockwave and graphics

Ryanair - they can still have ridiculously low fares at times (watch out for the very occasional "including taxes" special offers). But be sure to check the extras you've got to pay for, and keep a beady eye on those airport locations ("Frankfurt" Hahn indeed!)

BBC News - still the best

Directory Enquiries - don't phone up, just visit the BT site
